Dr. Linda Hart earned her doctorate in Psychology from Alliant University (formerly California School of Professional Psychology) in San Diego, California in 1989.  She became licensed in 1990, shortly after she became a mother.  Although she loved her work, she decided to stay home to take care of her daughter and son.  She has been married for 26 years and her children are now in college and medical school.

Dr. Hart has been fascinated with the mind-body connection and alternative medicine for over 40 years.  She is also writing a cookbook composed of those rare recipes that are healthy, delicious, super easy and fast to prepare, AND require minimal clean-up!

Her show, "The Hart of It," grew out of her interest in finding intelligent, practical solutions to the inevitable challenges of health, heart, and home:  staying healthy naturally, parenting and relationships, handling stress, and preparing nutritious food in limited time.

Her family and friends' positive experiences with alternative medicine over the last 40 years have made a deep impression upon her.  She found that there were times when homeopathy, acupuncture, NeuroEmotional Technique, chiropractic care, osteopathy, thermography, Chinese herbs, vitamins or nutritional interventions were the modalities that made positive differences in the health of those she loves.  She shared some of these experiences on her show, in hopes of providing information on these and other alternative methods of healing.

She recommends that you consult a medical doctor before attempting any natural healing program, but when traditional methods don't work, she encourages people to explore alternatives.  She believes in an integrative approach to medicine; one in which the strengths of each style of health care are recognized and appreciated.

Linda Hart is also the organizer of "Closely Knit," a bi-weekly, drop-in knitting circle in Solana Beach, California.  Her Czechoslovakian mother taught her to crochet, knit, cross-stitch, and sew throughout her childhood, and she enjoys passing on her knowledge.  See the "Closely Knit" page for more information about this group.
